Packing for the Apocalypse
I have recurring nightmares. Lots of them. There are some common themes- lots of zombies. Often family members trying to eat my brains. You know, that sort of thing. And tidal waves. If my dreams turn out to be predictive … Continue reading

Hot Water
Or lack thereof, really. We have very little hot water in our house. Or, I should say, we have a lot of scalding hot water for a few seconds, and then almost none. No matter which tap you use, scalding … Continue reading

Skills
I’ve been listening to the Hunger Games audio books on repeat. On the one hand, they make good, easy listening while sewing. It’s hard to listen to something serious when every few words are drowned out by the sewing machine. … Continue reading

The Busy Trap
NY Times: The Busy Trap Oh, I hate it when they write articles about me. It’s true, that feeling he describes, when someone asks you to do something and you can loftily say “sorry, I’m busy.” It makes you sound … Continue reading

The Hunger Games
So I’ve been binge reading, which is kind of my reward to myself for quitting my job. It’s one of the things I used to spend every spare moment doing, and then somehow the spare moments turned into stolen moments … Continue reading

Not About Cats
So where does all this sewing/farming/whatever discussion leave this blog? I don’t know. I don’t really want it to turn into one of those blogs where I just talk completely randomly about things that are happening in my life. I … Continue reading

I’m Back
I like to imagine the future. Usually, contrary to the expectations of the people who know me, I actually envision it in a positive way. Healthy forests, healthy people, clean water, clean air. My sister at heart actually wrote a … Continue reading

To Blog or Not to Blog
That is the question. If you are a regular reader, you’ve undoubtedly noticed my extended absence. I haven’t felt much like writing. I was too busy for a few months, and then ongoing troubles at work have led to a … Continue reading
