Just a little update on the chickens. Their combs are starting to turn red, just a little, and they’re finally outside, at least during the day. We’ve been setting them alongside the older chickens, and they’ve been eying each other up. I don’t think they quite know what to make of it. But no mixing yet- not until the little ones are big enough to defend themselves.

This is the one I call Tiny. She was originally smaller but now has gotten bigger and is clearly the alpha chicken between the two of them.

They also look like little dinosaurs. They stalk.

And there’s Fluffy, always in the background, always wondering what the hell is happening.

Whaaaaat?
Of course, taking care of them is sometimes a pain in the ass. They are awful about spilling food everywhere. It’s hard to find them shade. You have to carry them in at night. They poop everywhere. But really, at the end of the day…

Raising chickens is awesome.
