So, We Had A Book Festival…
Now I need to tell you about all the books, right? Well, I’m kind of doing that a little at a time. You’ve already heard about Lierre Keith and Bonny Wolf, I’ll talk about Lucie Snodgrass and Paul Greenberg next … Continue reading

The Other Local Food
When arranging the Lit Fest for this past weekend, I asked each of the authors to speak about local foods. I mean, duh, that was the whole point of the weekend. They all interpreted this in different ways- some of … Continue reading

Pave the Farms and Name the Streets After Them
I do see some strange things when driving around the eastern shore. For example, on one particular country road you can find a new-ish housing development on what was clearly a recent farm field, called “Adventure Farms.” I get very … Continue reading
I Can’t Believe It’s Warm Outside
No really, I can’t. It’s actually a pleasant temperature. I’m not sure what to make of this. What makes it warm one day and cold the next? How does that work? It’s even kind of overcast today (Friday) and yet … Continue reading

Friday Food Roundup
What a week! I think I’m finally getting to the point where I can handle my life again. The house is coming together- only thing left is to hang pictures (and figure out what to do with the overwhelming amount … Continue reading

Kitchen Magic
So, I finally got a chance to take pictures of the yogurt making process. The thing with making yogurt is that it’s quite easy, really. It’s just that it has to sit for eight hours, fermenting, and when it’s done … Continue reading
